Background/ExperienceMarie joined MG Barkers in early February 2008, with previous purchasing experience for a UK National company. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) and is currently studying for level 5 Advanced Diploma in Purchasing and Supply. In September 2010, Marie will advance to a Level 6 graduate diploma gaining full MCIPS status.

Being a CIPS member gives Marie much opportunity to expand her knowledge of the purchasing role, through seminars such as Lean Supply, Contract Law and International Purchasing.

Current Role/ResponsibilitiesResponsible for overseeing the purchasing for MG Barkers, working closely with internal staff and external suppliers. Key roles include placing purchase orders, checking acknowledgements, ensuring supplier delivery dates are met, checking supplier invoices and dealing with any queries. Also vital is keeping up to date with current product innovations as well as potential supplier developments. Marie is constantly involved in renegotiating current contracts in terms of pricing and credit terms as well as negotiating new contracts for MG Barkers and MG Ceilings and Linings.

Hobbies/InterestsIf she can squeeze it in between work and studying, Marie enjoys going to gym classes, socialising with family and friends and listening to music.
